I just launched a Patreon page , Nizina Naturals, as a way to share my upcoming work with you. This is something I've thought a lot about. As much as I love putting a gallery show together and putting my work behind glass on big, white walls, I am really excited about creating something more intimate, that you can hold in your hands.

What does that mean? This summer I'll be creating illustrated maps, zines from my sketchbooks, recipes for using wild plants, and other small art projects like cyanotypes and postcards. Through this work, I can bring you along with me to the boreal forest behind my cabin, to Dyea at the start of the Chilkoot Trail, and to Camp 18 on the Juneau Icefield. One of my goals as an artist (and as a person) is to help people feel connected to their natural surroundings. Something that helps me feel grounded and connected is knowing the plants around me and how I can work with them. A big part of Nizina Naturals moving forward is going to explore ways to work with plants. A first sample, that I just put up, is a quick and easy way to use some edible wild greens to make pesto.
